Thanks to the pandemic, the world has changed dramatically. Here we are in 2021 writing about a new webcam from Dell. Prior to the Pandemic, we would have never written about a new webcam. But the Dell UltraSharp Webcam is here, and it is quite impressive.
Dell claims that the UltraSharp Webcam offers the world’s best image quality, and it’s a 4K webcam too. It takes inspiration from DSLR cameras, and uses a large 4K Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor, with a multi-element lens that is able to capture more light. And thus delivering some really clear video.
There’s also Digital Overlap HDR capability in the Dell UltraSharp Webcam that is going to preserve true-to-life colors and balance exposure. So even in the most grainy of situations, you’re going to get a really great experience from this webcam.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a webcam in 2021 without auto-framing support. And it also has smart security so you can use it with Microsoft Teams or Slack with ease.
What’s a bit interesting about this one is that you can customize your field of view. Going from 65-degrees, to 78-degrees or 90-degrees. This is great if you’re using it for a group of people, say in a conference room. This is possible because of the 5x digital zoom that is included.
Dell has made it so you can easily put this on top of your monitor, or onto a tripod. It’s a pretty interesting form factor, as it’s basically just a cylinder, instead of having a rectangle face with mics built into the sides.

This is going to be a really great multi-purpose webcam. From having meetings on Microsoft Teams, to streaming on Twitch, it’s going to be able to do it all.
