The HONOR 50 series smartphones will become official on June 16. The company announced the information via Weibo (a Chinese social media network), while its media people are spreading the word as well.

Three HONOR 50 smartphones will launch on June 16, including a flagship one

Now, based on the information that leaked thus far, HONOR is planning to announce three devices during that event. The HONOR 50 will be joined by the HONOR 50 Pro, and 50 Pro+.

The HONOR 50 is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 778G SoC. It will, essentially, be a mid-range smartphone. We’re not sure about the HONOR 50 Pro, but the 50 Pro+ is said to include the Snapdragon 888 SoC.

Considering the ‘Pro’ moniker, the HONOR 50 Pro could also ship with Qualcomm’s most powerful processor. We’ll have to wait and see. All in all, we’re getting three smartphones, though, and considering the differences between them, there will be something for everyone.

The HONOR 50 Pro+ specs did surface recently. According to that information, the device will feature a 6.79-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. We’re not sure if that will be an LTPO display, though.

The Pro+ model will include 66W wired, and 50W wireless charging

The phone is also said to include 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. A 4,400mAh battery was also mentioned. The phone will support 66W fast wired charging, and 50W fast wireless charging.

Four cameras are expected to be included on the back of this phone, and two on the front. A 50-megapixel main camera is said to be partnered with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide unit. An 8-megapixel telephoto camera was also mentioned, as was a 3D ToF (Time-of-Flight) camera.

On the front, the HONOR 50 Pro+ is expected to feature 32 and 8-megapixel cameras. Based on this info, the phone will likely feature a pill-shaped camera display hole on the front.

Android 11 is expected to come pre-installed on all devices, along with Google services. HONOR is no longer Huawei’s company, and it was confirmed a while back that it will feature Google apps / services.

Do note that this press event got teased in China, but these devices will make their way to other markets as well.
