Samsung will be rolling out only quarterly software updates to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Galaxy Tab S7 FE. The South Korean tech behemoth unveiled the two tablets earlier this week.

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is the watered-down version of the Galaxy Tab A7. Likewise, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE is being touted as the trimmed-down version of the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus.

Samsung recently shed light on its plan to release software updates for its new tablets. According to the company’s website, Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S7 FE will get quarterly software updates.

Software update schedule

In other words, Samsung will roll out software updates to the two new tablets once in three months. This strategy appears acceptable for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite since it falls under an affordable price bracket.

However, a quarterly software update for the Galaxy Tab S7 FE seems unacceptable. The 5G version of the tablet will set you back a whopping €649 in Europe, according to SamMobile.

If you are willing to shell out €50 more, you can get your hands on the Galaxy Tab S7 LTE that packs a faster processor, houses better cameras, and offers a 120Hz display.

It is also worth noting that some Galaxy A series phones including the Galaxy A52 (€409), and the Galaxy A52 5G (€489) get monthly software updates. That being said, it is quite unusual to not see the Galaxy Tab devices listed under the company’s monthly security update schedule.
