The Samsung Galaxy F22 is now official, and it’s essentially a rebranded Galaxy A22 4G with a beefier battery. The phone got announced in India, and aside from a different name, and battery, it’s the same as the 4G Galaxy A22, in every way.
The device does look the same as its sibling. It has a flat display, while its ‘chin’ is noticeably thicker than the rest of its bezels. A dewdrop display notch is included on the front, while its rear-facing cameras are placed in the top-left corner.
The device is made out of plastic, while Samsung’s branding is imprinted on the back. You’ll also notice that an LED flash sits right below the phone’s rear-facing cameras.
The Galaxy F22 is the same as its sibling, save for its battery capacity
So, how much beefier is its battery? Well, the Galaxy F22 comes with a 6,000mAh battery pack. The 4G Galaxy A22 includes a 5,000mAh battery. So it’s a considerable bump in the battery capacity department.
Other than that, its specs remain unchanged. The Galaxy F22 features a 6.4-inch Infinity-U HD+ display. This is a Super AMOLED display, and it does support a 90Hz refresh rate.
The MediaTek Helio G80 fuels this smartphone, that is MediaTek’s octa-core chip. The phone comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage, respectively.
The phone’s huge battery pack can be charged up by using a 15W charging brick, that’s the max charging speed you’ll get here. A side-facing fingerprint scanner is included here as well.
Android 11 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with One UI Core 3.1 skin. The phone does include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Type-C USB port at the bottom.
There are four cameras included on the back
You’ll notice four cameras on its back. A main 48-megapixel camera is backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit. A 2-megapixel depth camera is also a part of the package, and so is a 2-megapixel macro camera.
On the front, you’ll notice a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The phone measures 159.3 x 73.6 x 8.4mm, while it weighs 186 grams.
The two versions of the device are priced at INR12,500 ($167) and INR14,500 ($194) in India. The Galaxy F22 comes in Black and Blue color variants.
