Google has some new cases for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which do match the colors that the phones are available in. Gone are the fabric cases, and in are the new plastic cases. Which are still made from 100% recycled material. That’s something that Google has been working on in recent years. Making a lot of its own hardware out of recycled materials. The Pixel 4a series and Pixel 5 last year were mostly made from recycled material.
Many of us are going to be sad that the Pixel 6 doesn’t get the fabric case treatment from Google. As those were some really nice cases. And the fact that you could throw them into the washer was a nice touch.
These plastic cases first debuted on the Pixel 5a
Google first debuted these new plastic cases on the Pixel 5a, and apparently these are basically the same as those. But they look a little different because of the new design. While we don’t have hands on these cases yet – we are supposed to be getting some though – we have used the Pixel 5a case for a couple of months already. And it was pretty nice. It’s a somewhat thick plastic case that does add extra protection to the sides and the corners.
These cases come in three different colors, for each Pixel 6 model. The Pixel 6 cases come in Stormy Sky, Light Rain and Cotton Candy. While the Pixel 6 Pro cases come in Stormy Sky, Light Frost and Soft Sage. The soft Sage is a really nice color, and would look great on last year’s Pixel 5 in Sorta Sage.
You’ll be able to pre-order these cases today, along with your Pixel 6. So you can protect your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro from day one. Which is a big deal. Of course, you can likely find cheaper cases for the Pixel 6 series over on Amazon right now.
