Google has officially launched the previously hinted-at Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, with no fewer than three new two-tone colors available for each. And, of course, each comes with the need for at least a little explanation. Thanks in no small part to Google’s colorway naming conventions.

Pixel 6 and 6 Pro won’t come in the same colors though

Now, the camera for these new handsets cuts squarely across the back near the top of the device. With accent colors around the edges of the phone. But the colors on either side of that camera split are different this year. And based on the phone buyers choose, the color options that will actually be available are going to be very different depending on the phone buyers pick up.

For the Google Pixel 6, for instance, Google is offering the gadget in Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Stormy Black. With the latter color being the only one both phones will feature. That potentially indicates that Google expects it to be the most popular coloration.

As for the colors themselves, Kinda Coral features a deep coral tone for the top segment of the phone while the portion below the camera is a light rose pink color. While Sorta Seafoam may best be described as light-blue for the lower portion while the slim part above the camera is a distinct sea-foam green. Finally, Stormy Black is a low-gloss black coloration with a steel-like gray strip above the camera.

Contrarily, aside from Stormy Black, the Google Pixel 6 Pro will come in Cloudy White and Sorta Sunny colorways. Cloudy White is somewhat self-explanatory, giving users a handset that’s white in the lower portion. But somewhat darker at the top. Sorta Sunny comes with hues of light yellow for the lower part of the phone. The upper portion takes on a brighter, deeper yellow tint. That’s tinged with a light orange or red hue reminiscent of a sunset or sunrise.

Here’s how much you can expect to pay for your color choice

Given that the two Pixel 6 variants from Google will come in different colors — unless users opt for the Stormy Black option — those who buy for their preference are going to need to pay different amounts. As per the company’s announcement, the Google Pixel 6 is slated to cost $599. The Google Pixel 6 Pro, conversely, is priced at $899.
