Sony made a pretty intense shift with its smartphones a little while back. It’s now focusing on the premium camera-centric smartphone market, and its latest handset, the Xperia Pro-I, continues this trend.

Thanks to GSM Arena, we know that the company just posted some new videos showcasing the Xperia PRO-I in action. They all show professional photographers using the phone and giving their thoughts on the whole experience.

These videos show us the Xperia Pro-I in action

Sony got in a little bit of trouble in the tech community recently. It was advertising this phone on its Xperia Mark III phones and others via system ads. This shows that the company must have a lot of faith in this phone. These videos do much the same, showing photographers using the Xperia PRO-I.

The first video showcases how photographer Takashi Namiki uses the camera for his nature photography. He took pictures of mostly nature and a few pictures of a woman. Along with that, he focused a bit on how good the phone is at tracking subjects.

The next video showcases how AUXOUT tested the video capabilities of the phone. It shows him and a woman enjoying a day out around Hiroshima. We see shots in wildly different lighting conditions.

The last video shows the National Geographic travel photo contest winner Zhang Qianli. He talked a lot about the general quality of the camera and spent some time talking about the variable aperture.

What are the camera specs for this phone?

One of the main camera talking points about this camera is the 1-inch sensor. Having a larger sensor means that it can absorb more light, and this is really important in photography.
The main camera is a 12-megapixel camera that can have an aperture of either f/2 or f/4.

It also has a telephoto camera and an ultrawide camera, both at 12 megapixels. Along with those cameras, there’s a .3-megapixel depth sensor.

When it comes to video, the Xperi PRO-I has a few tricks up its sleeve. For starters, it can record 1080p HDR content at up to a whopping 240 fps. If you want more resolution, it can also record 4K video at up to 120 fps, which is still very impressive.

Another talking point with this camera is the Zeiss branding. Sony partnered with the German camera brand to help with the optics. Other companies like OnePlus and Honor do the same thing with their cameras.

As for the front camera, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. This one is pretty subdued compared to the back cameras. It can record up to 1080p video at 30fps.
If you’re interested in picking one of these up, you can buy one for $1800.
