According to a new rumor, all Galaxy S22 models will feature “Gorilla Glass Victus+” on the front. You may wonder what is “Gorilla Glass Victus+”, and we’re in the same boat. The Gorilla Glass Victus is the same protection that Corning announced.
All Galaxy S22 units may include “Gorilla Glass Victus+”
That begs the question, what is the “+” for. This information comes from Ice Universe, who is a well-known Chinese tipster. He did not explain what he tweeted out, so all we can do is wait for his comment on that tweet.
This could either be Corning’s next-gen protection, which is yet unannounced, or perhaps a typo by the tipster. That may sound odd, but it’s possible, as it seems odd Corning would announce something like this.
The Galaxy S22 series is coming next month. The Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra may launch on February 8. That is the date that is tipped by a couple of reliable sources, so chances are it’s accurate.
Samsung did not confirm anything just yet. The company recently announced the Galaxy S21 FE, and is still in the promotion stage with that phone. If that date is accurate, however, the confirmation will arrive soon.
These devices leaked a number of times thus far
All three of those phones leaked a number of times thus far, so we do know a lot about them at this point. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will stand apart with its design, while the Galaxy S22 and S22+ will look similar one to the other.
Those two phones will differ in size, though, quite a bit, and they’ll look similar to their predecessors. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will resemble the Galaxy Note 20 series when it comes to the design, to a degree.
The phone will come with the S Pen, which will be dockable inside the phone. Hence, this will essentially be a new Galaxy Note device, but with the Galaxy S name.
All three phones will be fueled by either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 SoCs, depending on the market. They’ll have powerful internals overall, but the ‘Ultra’ model will offer some extra goodies, of course.
