Samsung has confirmed the February 9 date for its next Unpacked event where it will announce the Galaxy S22 series. The company is teasing “groundbreaking” night photography, at least on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. And according to noted tipster Ishan Agarwal, we might be in quite a big improvement in this regard here. The tipster didn’t share samples or anything of that sort. However, he claims to have heard “very good things” about the night photography capabilities of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The new report also confirms the presence of an X-axis linear motor on the upcoming Samsung flagship. All three models are said to equip this type of motor, which should make for improved vibrations and haptic feedback.
Agarwal has also shared some insider information regarding Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2200 processor, which will power the new Galaxy flagships in some regions. The new chipset reportedly heats up, presumably to an uncomfortable level, while playing games like COD and PUBG. However, he noted that this could also have something to do with the test devices running an early build of the software. Samsung still has time to make necessary optimizations to the software and keep things in check.
Last but not least, Agarwal claims that the upcoming Samsung flagship can charge from 0 to 100 percent in about 50 minutes. He doesn’t specify the model but we presume it’s the Galaxy S22 Ultra we are talking about here. That should mean the Galaxy S22+ will get the job done even faster. We are expecting both models to support 45W fast charging but they will pack a 5,000mAh and a 4,500mAh battery respectively. The vanilla Galaxy S22, meanwhile, gets a 3,700mAh battery unit and charges at a maximum speed of 25W.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series is shaping up nicely
The Galaxy S22 series is Samsung’s next big conventional offering since early last year when it launched the Galaxy S21 series. We have heard a lot about the upcoming phones over the past few months. And as we inch closer to their unveiling, finer details are starting to emerge. Based on all that info, the new Galaxy flagships are shaping up nicely, particularly the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
We have already talked about improved cameras, improved charging speed, newer SoCs, and improved haptic feedback. But that’s not it.
