Samsung is the undisputed king when it comes to rolling out updates, especially security patches for its devices. Despite having a huge portfolio of devices, Samsung maintains a steady pace and rolls out the latest updates quickly for its devices.
Already a bunch of Samsung smartphones are either running the Android 12 One UI 4.0.
Talking about the latest January 2022 security update released for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, it is purely incremental in nature. Meaning it doesn’t bring any new features to the table.
Well, nothing to argue here. Because the device is already loaded with new features, thanks to the recently received Android 12 One UI 4.0 update.
The January 2022 security update simply bumps the security patch level to January 1, 2022. It is a crucial security patch, as it fixes dozens of security and privacy-related vulnerabilities.

Reportedly, the update arrives with firmware version G781BXXS4DVA2. Moreover, the update is available only for select countries at the moment.
Notably, the January 2022 security update is live in France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, and Nordic countries. Additionally, the update is rolling out in Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Baltic region, and the Czech Republic.
It is expected to roll out for more regions in the coming days. So, if you are a Galaxy S20 FE 5G user in one of the above regions, then you would have received the update notification.
However, if you haven’t received the notification yet, you can check for it manually. In order to do so, you need to head over to Settings > Software updates, and hit the Download and install button.
Your device will then check its official servers for the update. If detected, it will prompt you to install the update. Then you can simply hit the Download button to update your phone.
With the latest Android 12 update, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G has picked its first major firmware update. It is eligible to receive one more Android OS update, and it will receive Android 13 as well.
