Verizon may offer benefits of up to $2,000 when you purchase a Samsung Galaxy S22 phone from it. This includes up to a $1,000 trade-in discount and an additional $1,000 credit if you switch to the carrier. Buyers will need to trade-in “select” devices and sign up for an eligible 5G Unlimited plan.
According to a leaked screenshot of a page from the company’s offsite, courtesy of none other than Evan Blass, Verizon will accept devices for trade-in even if they are “old or damaged”. However, not every smartphone model will be eligible for trade-in, of course. Unfortunately, we don’t have information regarding which models the carrier is willing to buy. But it should accept most newer devices.
However, the company will not offer the same value for all devices. Recent high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Google Pixel 6 Pro, and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max will get you more than others. The physical condition of the device will also likely affect its value.
As far as the additional $1,000 credit is concerned, Verizon says this is to cover the cost of switching from other carriers. Unfortunately, that’s all we know so far. The Galaxy S22 series, which will include the vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, is set to go official on February 9, 2022. So you can expect more of these leaks to surface in the coming days.
Samsung is already taking reservations for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8
We still have over a week to go for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The online event on February 9 will see the Galaxy S22 trio as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 series, which will also come in three models — vanilla, Plus, and Ultra — break cover officially. Meanwhile, the company is already letting potential buyers reserve its upcoming flagship smartphones and tablets.
The reservations essentially work as a “notify me” button. However, Samsung is offering a $50 credit to anyone who reserves a unit now. The company may also launch other promotional offers such as trade-in discounts soon to attract buyers. So if you’re looking to buy one of the six upcoming flagship products from Samsung, it could be beneficial to make a reservation now. You don’t need to pay a penny but could be in for some nice offers. Make sure to check the official Samsung website for your region for exclusive offers.
