Among many other things that are coming to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series with the One UI 4.1 update, is Google Duo Live Sharing. A bit surprising that this is debuting on Samsung’s devices, rather than Google’s. But essentially it’s a clone of the SharePlay feature that Apple rolled out last year with iOS 15.

Even though we hope to be on the other side of the Pandemic now, chatting is still more popular than ever, and that is unlikely to go away. So Samsung is partnering with Google to introduce Live Sharing for Google Duo.

Share viral TikToks and see your friends reactions in real-time

You ever come across a TikTok video that was hilarious and you wanted to share it with your friends and see their reaction, but they are hundreds of thousands of miles away? Well with Google Duo Live Sharing, that is no longer an issue. You can share the video with them, and see their reactions in real-time. It can also be used to share game highlights with your friends and families.

What’s even cooler is that there is a collaborative virtual whiteboard in Google Duo now. So you can brainstorm with your coworkers all on Google Duo. This is great since a lot of workplaces are not going back to full-time in-office work. Either doing work from home, or a hybrid approach.

It’s going to be available across the entire Galaxy S22 series, including the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

There’s no word yet on when this will come to other devices that are not the Galaxy S22. It’ll likely be after Google I/O which usually takes place in May. But where Samsung worked with Google on this feature, Samsung is likely getting a timed exclusive on this feature for its smartphones.
