The cameras on the all-new Galaxy S22 series devices from Samsung come with some admittedly great improvements that most users will probably love. We’re talking pro photography-level features that will enable you to take some truly stunning pictures. At least that’s what Samsung would have you believe.
While we can’t speak to how professional your photos will look, the cameras on the Galaxy S22 series have definitely been improved over the Galaxy S21. And that’s something you should be excited about. Features like advanced auto framing that detects up to 10 subjects at once will be perfect for getting those memorable group wedding shots.
And the expert-level RAW app makes it possible to have pro-level creative control. While also supporting all four cameras and giving you access to 16-bit RAW files. In addition to enabling a wide dynamic range through multi-frame synthesis.
The Galaxy S22 cameras come with 23% better night photography
Smartphone cameras these days come with all kinds of bells and whistles. But few have been as important as nighttime photography enhancements. It’s relatively simple to get a great shot when there’s enough natural light outside. But it becomes quite difficult at night when your surroundings are much darker. Even with other lighting sources around you like lamp posts and such, you still sometimes can’t get as nice of a shot.
Enter the enhanced nighttime photography features of modern-day smartphones. Which have improved night shots a ton. The Galaxy S22 series in particular has 23% better nighttime photography compared to last year’s Galaxy S21 series. Thanks to things like sensors with larger pixels and enhanced AI high-resolution processing, the Galaxy S22 cameras can capture 4x as much data as before to produce a noticeably sharper image.
Portrait mode now also works better at night on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Specs and other useful features
The new Galaxy S22 series has a wide range of other improvements to look out for. Including the Pe Portrait, AI Stereo Depth Map, auto-framing capabilities and more.
Some features, such as the enhanced Space Zoom and the four rear cameras are only available on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. So if you want the best features, you’ll have to go for that model.
The Ultra also features improvements to Super HDR. Samsung says it will now blend multiple exposures into a single frame. In addition, Adaptive Pixel Technology can combine a total of 9 pixels into one, allowing for 108MP photos in the dark.
There’s improvements to stabilization as well. So, overall you get a better photo experience with these devices. And they’re probably worth the upgrade if taking pictures is one of the things you use most on your phone.
