The February 2022 Android security patch is reaching a few more Samsung Galaxy smartphones today. The new security update is now live for the Galaxy A52 5G in the US. The international versions of the Galaxy S20 FE are also picking up the latest SMR (security maintenance released).

Starting with the Galaxy A52 5G, the popular Samsung mid-ranger is receiving the February security update with firmware version A526U1UES4CVB2 in the US. The new patch is currently available to the unlocked variant of the phone. The OTA (over the air) rollout has already hit units on all major wireless carriers. It should soon reach carrier-locked Galaxy A52 5G units too. Note that the international version of this phone has already received the latest SMR.

The Galaxy S20 FE, meanwhile, first receive the new security update in the US. Samsung has already seeded the latest patch to both unlocked and carrier-locked variants of the device stateside. The Exynos-powered LTE-only international versions of the phone also recently picked up the update. Today, we have their Snapdragon counterparts, as well as the international Galaxy S20 FE 5G, joining the party.

The February SMR for the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S20 FE LTE (SM-G780G) is rolling out with firmware version G780GXXS3BVB3. The update is now available in Latin American markets. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G, meanwhile, is receiving the new security patch in a bunch of European countries, SamMobile reports. The new firmware version for this phone is G781BXXS4DVB1.

In addition to these phones, Samsung has also released the latest security update to the Galaxy A52s, Galaxy F41, and Galaxy A21s. These Galaxy devices aren’t as widely available as the likes of Galaxy A52 and Galaxy S20 FE. Anyways, you can expect more eligible Galaxy devices to join the February update party in the coming days.

February update for Samsung Galaxy smartphones fixes dozens of vulnerabilities

Samsung earlier this month published its updated security bulletin for February 2022. The new patch contains fixes for more the 60 vulnerabilities, including patches from Google. The company has labeled a bunch of them as critical issues. So it’s better to install the new SMR as early as you can.

You probably already know the drill as far as installing the new software package is concerned. Your phone will notify you of the OTA update once it becomes available. Alternatively, you can open the Settings app and navigate to the Software update Download and install menu to manually check for it. If there’s no OTA update available, check back again later.
