The Federation Internationale de Football Association, more commonly known as FIFA, has announced a free soccer streaming service called FIFA+. Available on the web and mobile, this streaming service will air content in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. FIFA said it will have more languages in the future.
The FIFA+ app allows users to stream more than 40,000 live games per year. This includes 11,000 women’s matches and 29,000 men’s games. In total, games from 100 Member Associations across six confederations will be available to stream through the app. The Verge reports that fans can currently stream games from leagues like the 3F Superliga, the Mongolian 2nd League, and the Nepal Women’s Football League.
The primary motive for this service is to offer soccer fans a way to stream matches, even from the smaller leagues. Such leagues usually don’t usually receive global attention, so this is a good way to spread their reach. According to FIFA, 1,400 live games will be streamed on the app in the first month.

The FIFA+ app will also offer original content at launch, including a six-part documentary on Brazilian soccer star Dani Alves. The platform will also stream a five-part documentary series covering interviews with women’s soccer greats such as Carli Lloyd, Wendie Renard, and several others.
Fans can also access videos from the archives, including full World Cup games or brief highlights. Individual compilations of players’ goals and assists are also available.
The service is completely free to use right now, although it’s ad-supported. The structure could change over time, however. “We’ll be strategically extending — so we will be potentially going into gaming, social community, and potentially subscription depending on where this goes and where the industry disruption heads,” head of FIFA+ Charlotte Burr told Variety.
“This project represents a cultural shift in the way different types of football fans want to connect with and explore the global game and has been a fundamental part of my Vision 2020-2023,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
Unfortunately, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 won’t stream live on the FIFA+ app. But soccer fans can still enjoy several hours of never before seen content on the app. You can download the FIFA+ app for Android via the Google Play Store, link below.
