If you’re looking to switch to Google Fi, you may want to activate your new SIM through Best Buy within the next few weeks. The retail biggie is running a monthlong promotion where you’ll get a $100 bill credit if you activate a new Google Fi line. The promotion is valid for both online and in-store activations. You can buy a new phone or bring an existing unlocked unit and activate a new Google Fi line to avail of the offer. You will receive $100 as Fi credit that will be applied toward your future monthly bills.
Of course, there are some fine prints that you need to be wary of here. Firstly, this promotion is only available to new Google Fi customers. According to the company, a new customer is “someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion”. If you’re an existing Fi subscriber, adding a new line won’t make you eligible for the $100 bill credit.
You will also need to activate the new line on a full-service plan at BestBuy. Data-only SIMs do not qualify for the promotion. After activation, you must remain active on Fi for at least 30 days to receive the credit. The $100 savings will be applied toward monthly service costs, including data, calls, texts, and device protection. You cannot use the credit to purchase a new phone or toward financing, the terms and conditions (via) state.
Last but not least, any remaining credit is usable as long as you are an active Fi customer. If you deactivate your account, you will lose the remaining amount if any. This promotion is now active and valid until July 27, 2022, or until supplies last.
Google Fi unlimited plans got a price cut recently
This Google Fi promotion comes shortly after the company reduced the prices of most of its unlimited plans and also added more benefits. The entry-level Flexible plan added unlimited calling within Canada and Mexico at no extra cost. The Simply Unlimited plan saw a price cut of up to $10 per month per line. It also now offers 35GB of high-speed mobile data, 5GB of hotspot data, and unlimited calling within Canada and Mexico.
The Unlimited Plus plan also now costs $5 less than earlier for any number of lines, starting at $40 per month per line. Additional perks here include 50GB of high-speed mobile data, unlimited hotspot data, and 100GB of cloud storage.
