Samsung has reportedly begun the mass production of parts for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 ahead of its official unveiling in August. The manufacturer will also launch the Galaxy Z Flip 4 at the same event.

The revelation comes from winfuture.de’s Roland Quandt (via SamMobile), who is usually reliable on pre-release information. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Samsung is officially commencing the mass production of parts/components required for its upcoming flagship, considering that we’re just a few months away from its arrival.

Unfortunately, there’s no precise information on what components or parts are going into mass production. Putting together an intricate phone such as the Galaxy Z Fold is a challenging task. So even if Samsung has a few more months before the phone’s arrival, it probably wants the foldable to be ready at least by July for last-minute pre-launch tests.

Thanks to the ever-flowing stream of leaks and rumors, we’ve learned quite a bit about the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and its hardware. This week, a well-known tipster offered juicy information on the flagship’s hardware, calling it “100% accurate.”

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, as per the tipster. This aligns with other reports and is almost predictable since Samsung generally uses the latest Qualcomm SoC for its flagships. We also learned that the foldable would feature a 7.6-inch QXGA+ resolution AMOLED screen with a 120Hz display refresh rate. Meanwhile, the secondary AMOLED screen will span 6.2-inches bearing an HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

A 4,400mAh battery is tipped to feature on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, aided by 25W fast wired charging. The tipster couldn’t offer details on the wireless charging speeds. But it’s likely to offer wireless charging speeds of at least 11W, in line with the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

The new flagship could retain the selfie cameras from last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 3

You can also expect the Galaxy Z Fold 4 to feature up to 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. Expectedly, the two phones will run Android 12 by default with the Samsung One UI 4.1 skin on top.

There could be some improvements in rear camera hardware, the tipster claims. The Z Fold 4 would continue to offer three rear cameras, including a new 50-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. Selfies will be handled via the 4-megapixel under-display camera, whereas the secondary screen will feature a 10-megapixel selfie camera in the conventional punch-hole format.
