Shortly after rolling out the third Android 13 beta update to the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is seeding a new beta build to the Galaxy S21 series as well. It is the second One UI 5.0 beta release for the latter but the package contains more or less the same changes as the former. If anything, this should be an indication of a nearing stable rollout for the company’s last two flagships.

As of this writing, the second Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra is available to enrolled users in India and the UK (via). Perhaps users in the US have already received this build, albeit with the first release. The beta program for the Galaxy S21 series recently opened stateside. The first beta build for users in the US contained more than what users in other regions received. It likely packed changes for the second release as well.

Nonetheless, if you live in India or the UK and have enrolled your Galaxy S21 in the One UI 5.0 beta program, you should be receiving a new update soon. This build fixes several bugs that existed in the previous release. Samsung has fixed an issue with the home screen return animation, gallery widget, and more. You should also no longer see a pop-up saying “IMS service stop” after a software update.

Additionally, you get several new features too. Samsung has added immersive, sideshow-style stories in the gallery, while the Album tab in the gallery gets an improved interface. You can also now change the lockscreen wallpaper directly from the lock screen. Speaking of wallpapers, the settings menu for selecting new wallpaper has got a UI overhaul.

Users who have already updated to the new beta build are also reporting smoother system animations, with some claiming the smoothest One UI animations ever. So you should be getting a more fluid user experience too.

Samsung rolls out another One UI 5.0 beta update to the Galaxy S21

Samsung has been publicly beta testing One UI 5.0 since early last month. It has so far opened beta programs for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series. The Galaxy S20 phones may also get a beta program soon. The company is rumored to be among a mid-October timeline for the stable rollout of One UI 5.0 for its devices. So we might be at the fag end of this public beta testing, at least for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series. We will let you know when the stable update rolls out.
