Samsung has long been one of the world’s most innovative tech companies. It maintains a wide range of product portfolios and has built an impressive record in innovation, design, and functionality across the lineup. Unsurprisingly, the company often walks away with top honors at various award ceremonies. It recently received four Gold Accolades for Design Excellence at the 2022 Australian Good Design Awards. This recognition comes shortly after Samsung picked up the Smartphone Manufacturer of the Year, Phone of the Year, and Innovation of the Year at the Mobile Industry Awards 2022.
The four Samsung products that received Design Excellence awards included three Bespoke home appliances. The Bespoke Cube Air Purifier AX53, Bespoke Refrigerator, and Bespoke AirDresser all picked up the Good Design Award Gold Accolade. Samsung’s The Freestyle portable projector also won gold in the Product Design category at the 2022 Australian Good Design Awards, which are the highest honor for design and innovation in the country. This was the 64th edition of the annual awards that recognize “outstanding design and innovation that improves the lives of Australians”.
The 2022 Australian Good Design Awards saw global participation in 11 design disciplines and over 30 product categories and sub-categories. More than 70 Australian and international Jurors evaluated the entries to select the winners. The entries were “evaluated according to a strict set of design evaluation criteria which includes Good Design, Design Innovation, and Design Impact.”
Samsung also won three major honors at the Mobile Industry Awards 2022
These Gold Accolades for product design and innovation come shortly after Samsung collected three major honors at the Mobile Industry Awards 2022. It retained the prestigious Smartphone Manufacturer of the Year award this year. The company topped it up with the Phone of the Year award for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It also picked up the Innovation of the Year award for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. Note that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 hit the market just a few weeks before these Awards. So these foldables were likely not considered for the accolades.
Held at the Royal Lancaster London last week, this is the 20th year of the Mobile Industry Awards. These awards recognize “the best and brightest the UK mobile industry has to offer”. Other notable winners include ZAGG (Accessory Manufacturer of the Year), EE (Network of the Year), Sky Mobile (Best MVNO), and WeFix (Best Repair Service). OPPO and Motorola were the two runner-up smartphone brands.
