Over the weekend Ubisoft announced loads of detailed updates about its upcoming lineup of games, which includes an Assassin’s Creed game for Netflix. Earlier this year, Netflix officially launched its mobile games effort, allowing subscribers to download games from a growing list from within the app.

The streaming service generally seems to release a few games every couple of months. And now offers 28 games to choose from. Most of those games aren’t really from a franchise as big as Assassin’s Creed though. Which makes Ubisoft and Netflix’s announcement all the more exciting. But the as yet unnamed partnership project is not the only Ubisoft property coming to Netflix, with the company actually planning to release three games for the streaming service.

Ubisoft will make these three games exclusive to Netflix

In addition to the unnamed Assassin’s Creed title, there are two more Netflix partnership games coming. One is a sequel to the 2014 release ‘Valiant Hearts: The Great War.’ This will not only be a sequel of the first game but come with a brand-new story and “retain the same DNA as the original.”

It also releases in January 2023, so its launch is only a few more months away. The third mobile game coming to Netflix is part of Ubisoft’s Mighty Quest franchise. This is another unnamed title at the moment, but it will also release sometime in 2023. Though Ubisoft will take the game in a different direction this time around when it comes to the genre.

Instead of an action RPG, this new title will feature more roguelike mechanics and “draw heavy inspiration” from the genre.

The mobile game could be a tie-in for the live-action AC series

Back in 2020 Netflix announced that it was partnering with Ubisoft for the creation of a live-action TV series based on the Assassin’s Creed franchise. And after the success and popularity of The Witcher, it’s not hard to understand why.

Though it hasn’t been confirmed, the Netflix-exclusive Assassin’s Creed mobile game could be a tie-in for that upcoming show. In the same way that Netflix has created games based on its popular Stranger Things series.
