The Google Pixel Watch has received generally favorable reviews since its launch back in October. It’s Google’s first smartwatch, and it’s also the first Wear OS 3 smartwatch to be integrated with Fitbit. That being said, there seems to be an issue where Fitbit on the Pixel Watch would report inaccurate calorie counts.
In case you don’t know, Fitbit is owned by Google. So, Fitbit integration with the Google Pixel Watch is not unheard of. Fitbit is a fully-featured suite of health tools for wearable devices. Google was able to leverage that to make its first wearable device more tempting.
Fitbit on the Pixel Watch is reporting inaccurate calorie counts
This news comes from Android Police. Apparently, people who use the Pixel Watch are getting calorie readings that are quite a bit higher than what they should be. Several users (some of them Android Police writers) have been experiencing this issue.
When compared to calorie counts on the Galaxy Watch 4, the Fitbit readings were about 50% higher. This gave off the impression that people burned many more calories than they actually did.
According to 9To5Google, a simple reboot of the device will help fix the problem. It’s not a permanent solution, but it comes in handy.
Apparently, The watch is not recording your information incorrectly. It’s recording your information accurately, but if it starts off with inaccurate information, the end results will be off.
What’s fortunate is that Google has acknowledged the problem. There is an update coming out soon that aims to fix the bug permanently. We’re not entirely sure when the update will come out, so you should be on the lookout for it.

Google launched the Pixel Watch on October 6th this year, and it’s a really good device. It has a nice design with great build quality, Wear OS3, and several proprietary watch bands to choose from.
