Samsung‘s Galaxy A52 is receiving the Android 13 update. The mid-range smartphone follows dozens of other models in making the jump to the new Android version. The update expectedly brings the Korean firm’s One UI 5.0 custom Android software.

As of this writing, the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update for the Galaxy A52 is live for the 4G model in Russia (model number SM-A525F). The new firmware version for the phone is A525FXXU4CVJB (via). Samsung should roll out the update widely in the coming days, covering both 4G and 5G models in more markets, including the US.

This update brings plenty of changes to the Galaxy A52. It’s a major Android upgrade, after all. And Samsung makes one of the heaviest custom Android skins out there, so you can expect tons of changes to stock Android. Starting with the UI, the company has made app icons bolder and tweaked some system menus for a refreshed look. System animations have been improved too, so you get a smoother navigation experience. Improved Color Palette, meanwhile, lets you better apply wallpaper colors to your system UI.

Additionally, Samsung has introduced new customization options to One UI. It also now lets you quickly customize your wallpapers, clock styles, and other UI elements from the lock screen. Improved widgets let you get more out of the limited space on the homescreen, while new gestures enhance productivity by letting you quickly switch to pop-up or split-screen views. One UI 5.0 also brings new camera and editing features and improves the privacy, security, and accessibility of Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy A52 is also getting the November security patch

Along with all the new features and improvements that are part and parcel of Android 13-based One UI 5.0, the Galaxy A52 is also getting the November security patch with the latest release. Samsung recently confirmed that the November SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches more than 60 vulnerabilities. These include some critical Android OS issues as well.

If you’re using this phone, you can look forward to receiving Android 13 soon. Though the update is currently limited to 4G models in Russia, Samsung has been rather quick with its software updates lately. A global rollout shouldn’t be too far off. You should get a notification about it once the new Android version is available for your phone. You can also go to Settings > Software update and tap on Download and install to manually check for updates.
