Samsung is hard at work on the Android 13 update for its foldables. The company has released multiple Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta builds for folding smartphones over the past few weeks. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is today receiving its fifth and likely final beta update.

Currently rolling out in India, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is receiving the latest Android 13 beta update with firmware version ZVK3. The new build comes with the November security patch. The changelog is rather short and only contains bug fixes, which is an indication of a nearing stable release. Samsung has fixed the remaining few bugs and should be preparing for the public rollout.

According to the changelog supplied by Samsung, this beta update fixes the problem with the screen blinking unnaturally when the ambient light is low (via). A music widget issue that causes it to expand on the lock screen when using Good Lock has been fixed as well. Additionally, the Korean firm has patched a problem with the search functionality in My files. The company also fixed several camera, setting, and system bugs with this beta release for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

If you’ve enrolled your Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the Android 13 beta program, you will receive this update soon. Well, may already have it pending. Go to the Software update section in the Settings app and tap on Download and install to check for it. If you don’t see any updates, wait for some time and check again.

Samsung will soon release the Android 13 update for its foldables

Most of these bug fixes were mentioned in the changelog for the latest Android 13 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 as well. All of this points to an imminent stable update. Samsung has already rolled out the new Android version to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy A53 5G. Since foldables are different from these devices and require more software optimization, the company is taking its time. But the wait may not be much longer now.

Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung is also expected to release the Android 13 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 this month. Once the company updates these foldables, it will likely shift the focus to the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S7 flagship tablets. The Korean behemoth makes a lot of smartphones and tablets every year. So these updates will keep coming well into 2023 as well. We will keep you posted on those.
