Verizon is giving its customers free access to a premium Netflix subscription if they join the +Play beta. It’s a deal worth considering if you’re already a Verizon subscriber, especially if you enjoy your streaming services. Though, there is kind of a catch to it. As is to be expected since Verizon wouldn’t just hand you free stuff for nothing in return.

First, you may be asking, what’s +Play and why should I care. And that’s a totally understandable response. +Play is basically a hub for all your favorite media. Games, movies, sports, music etc. All in one place for easy and convenient access anytime you want it. In short, it’s a place to manage all your subscriptions as well as access them.

If that sounds like something you’re interested in, then you should definitely sign up for the beta. And the good news is that it’s open to pretty much any Verizon customer. For instance, you can be on Verizon’s mobile, 5G Home, or LTE Home internet plans. But you do likely need to be a postpaid customer.

The +Play beta comes with Netflix for a year

Yes, you can get access to a free year of a premium Netflix plan if you get in on the +Play beta. Verizon says this is only available for a limited time and the free Netflix is only part of the early access. So you don’t want to wait too long. That being said, to get Netflix for free you do have to subscribe to something else.

Once you gain early access to the beta, you need to subscribe to any number of other services through +Play. It also needs to be a 12-month or seasonal subscription. So month-to-month isn’t going to work here. A few other details worth noting – The free year of Netflix is for the 4K Premium plan. Which amounts to around $240 a year since it costs $19.99 a month.

To get this promotion, you need to sign up for either NFL+ Premium, NBA League Pass Premium, the Peleton App annual plan, or annual plans for Calm Premium, AMC+, or Super Duolingo. All of those will be $130 or less. So you spend at minimum, $110 less than you would for Netflix Premium over the course of the year. The cheapest plan is the NFL+ Premium seasonal plan. Which is only $25. So that’s likely the way to go if you just want to spend the least amount of money.

If you’re interested in signing up for the beta, you can do so here. This is where you can also find all the qualifying plans.
