Android 13 is rolling out to Samsung‘s Galaxy A32 5G in the US. The big Android update is live for users with a carrier-locked model stateside. The company should soon cover unlocked units too. The new Android version has already been rolled out to this affordable 5G handset in most international markets.
The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G gets Android 13 in the US
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the carrier-locked Galaxy A32 5G in the US comes with firmware version A326USQU8CVK5, SamMobile reports. The package reportedly bundles the November 2022 Android security patch. It’s a fairly old security release now that some Galaxy models have already received the January 2023 SMR (Security Maintenance Release). However, this update is mainly about Android 13, so it’s fine. The Galaxy A32 5G will get newer security patches in the future.
This update brings plenty of new features, changes, and improvements to the Samsung mid-ranger. The Korean firm has refreshed its custom UI with various subtle tweaks and also improved system animations and transitions to make navigation smoother. There are several new customization options as well, allowing you to make your phone more personal. Stock apps and services like Camera, Gallery, Photo Editor, Bixby, Samsung Keyboard, and others also get new features that add to their functionality. Last but not least, we have improvements to the device’s accessibility, privacy, and security measures.
This should be the last major Android OS update for this Samsung mid-ranger
Samsung launched the Galaxy A32 5G in January 2021. The device shipped with Android 11 out of the box, and it received the Android 12 update last year. As we speak, the mid-range 5G smartphone has jumped to Android 13 as well. But it shouldn’t get any more major Android OS releases. Samsung only promises two generations of Android upgrades for its affordable devices and the Galaxy A32 5G has gotten them. Android 14 will not reach this phone. Security updates will continue to come once every few months at least until January 2025.
Nonetheless, if you’re using the Galaxy A32 5G in the US, a big update is headed your way with tons of goodies. Head over to Settings > Software update on your phone and tap on Download and install to check if the OTA (over the air) release has reached your unit. If not, wait a few days and check again. You may also get a notification when the update becomes available for your smartphone.
