Samsung is introducing the SmartThings Station at CES 2023 today. Which is a smart home hub that will make it easier to access all of the smart things in your home. However, it also has a secret feature, that is pretty impressive.

Which is, it is also a fast wireless charger. This SmartThings Station can charge your devices at up to 15W, wirelessly. So it’s able to pull double duty here, which is really impressive.

The SmartThings Station has quick setup and is compatible with a wide range of smart home products, which includes Matter. Which is currently the new standard for smart home products. Users are able to automate different aspects of their home environment, setting routines that add convenience to their day and help to reduce energy waste such as switching off lights and appliances.

Samsung’s EVP and head of SmartThings, Jaeyeon Jung stated that “having a smart home shouldn’t be complicated or expensive. So we wanted to create SmartThings Station as a simple, reliable and expandable smart home hub.”

The new SmartThings Station is able to intuitively adapt to users daily routines. That includes using thermostats, lighting and power outlets to seamlessly interconnect with other devices connected to the smart home server, so that they all work together, as they should. With a press of the Smart Button on the Station, users are able to activate a routine created on their SmartThings app

It’ll be “affordable” when it launches

Samsung says that the SmartThings Station will be affordable when it goes on sale in early February 2023. However, we do not have a specific price just yet.

The only downside here is that this will only be available in the US and Korea, at least for now. The US launch is set for February 2023. And it’ll be available in black or white.
