OPPO hosted a press conference in London today to announce its Find N2 Flip foldable globally. The OPPO Find N2 Flip launched in China back in December, but it took OPPO a couple of extra months to announce the phone elsewhere.
The OPPO Find N2 Flip launches globally to increase competition in the foldable market
As a reminder, both the OPPO Find N2 and Find N2 Flip launched in China in December, only the ‘Flip’ is coming to global markets, though. The OPPO Find N2 Flip looks to become the main competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
This is a clamshell foldable smartphone that combines metal and glass. It has flat sides, and a gapless design when folded. All that thanks to OPPO’s New Generation Flexion Hinge. That hinge is also the reason this phone has way less noticeable crease than the Galaxy Z Flip 4. We’ve seen similar results on the Find N2, which we reviewed a while back.
This phone is rated for 400,000 folds
This hinge can hold its position mid-fold, between 45-degree and 110-degree levels. The phone’s FlexForm Mode can also turn this smartphone into a tripod of sorts. The OPPO Find N2 Flip has been tested for 400,000 folds, says the company.
Now, you’ll notice that there is a rather sizeable cover display on the outside here, in addition to a large foldable display on the inside. The main display measures 6.8 inches, and it’s Samsung’s E6 fullHD+ AMOLED panel. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and gets up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.
Its cover display is quite large compared to display on other clamshell foldables
The cover display, on the other hand, is a 3.26-inch unit. That panel is considerably larger than what other clamshell foldables offer. It offers a 720 x 382 resolution, and it’s also an AMOLED panel, protected by the Gorilla Glass 5.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ fuels this smartphone, MediaTek’s 4nm processor. The device has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the global variant. The Chinese model comes in more options.
44W charging is supported, and can charge up this phone in less than an our
A 4,300mAh battery sits on the inside of this phone, while 44W SuperVOOC wired charging is supported. Wireless charging is not offered, but you can take advantage of reverse wired charging, if needed. OPPO’s 44W charging can get this phone to 50% in 23 minutes, and up to 100% in an hour.
A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, 23mm lens, Sony’s IMX890 sensor) is backed by an 8-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, 112-degree FoV). On the front (the main panel) you’ll find a 32-megapixel camera (f/2.4 aperture, 22mm lens). The phone also includes the MariSilicon X NPU, and offers a unique XPAN mode.
Android 13 comes pre-installed here, along with ColorOS 13. The phone does offer stereo speakers, and a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The phone will be available in Black and Violet color options globally. The OPPO Find N2 Flip will be available to pre-order starting today, February 15. We have a price tag for the UK only at the moment, as the device is priced at £849 ($1,023/€956).
