Android 13 is here for Samsung‘s Galaxy A03s in the US. The company is currently pushing the big Android update to the carrier-locked variants of the phone. Users with factory-unlocked units should also get it soon. The budget handset has already received Android 13 in most international markets.

Samsung is rolling out the Android 13 update for the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy A03s in the US with the firmware build number A037USQU3CWB6. SamMobile first reported about this rollout but it’s unclear if the handset is picking up One UI Core 5.0 or One UI Core 5.1.

The former is more likely since all other Galaxy devices received Android 13 with One UI 5.0 or its Core version. That said, Android 12 for the Galaxy A03s in the US came with One UI Core 4.1, so you never know.

Nonetheless, this update will bring plenty of changes to your Samsung smartphone. The company has tweaked the UI, improved app icons, and made system animations smoother.

You’ll also find new features in the camera, Samsung Internet, AR Emoji, Gallery, Samsung Keyboard, Settings, Quick Settings, notifications, Samsung Notes, and more. There are privacy, security, and accessibility improvements as well. Overall, your Galaxy A03s will offer a whole new experience after installing Android 13.

Galaxy A03s gets its last major Android update in the US

Along with all of these goodies, the Galaxy A03s is also getting several vulnerability patches with this update. Samsung isn’t pushing the latest security release to the phone, but the December 2022 patch is also an upgrade from the November release it got with the last update in January.

If you’re using this phone in the US, watch out for a notification prompting you to download the latest release. As of this writing, Android 13 is rolling out to Galaxy A03s users on T-Mobile and Metro networks. Others should join the party soon.

If you don’t get any notification, you can manually check for updates from the Settings app. Open the app, go to the Software update section, and tap on Download and install. If an update is available, you’ll be prompted to download it.

But if the phone doesn’t find any updates, wait a few more days and check again. Since it’s a major update, the OTA (over that air) package will be huge. It’s advisable to download it over Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. Note that the Galaxy A03s will not get Android 14. This is the last major Android update for the phone.
