It’s update season for Team Pixel teammates. The latest feature is landing for Pixel phone users, but the company is not leaving its smartwatch users out in the cold. The March 2023 update is coming to the Pixel Watch.

Google recently released the March 2023 update to the Pixel phones, and this update brought the latest feature drop. If you use a currently supported Pixel phone, you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.

If you want to check for updates manually, go to your Settings. From there, go to System then System Update. There, tap on the Check for update button. After that the system will search for the latest update. If it says that your system is up to date, you’ll just want to wait a few days.

The March 2023 update is coming to the Pixel Watch

This news comes to us from Verizon (via Droid Life). The company points out that the update bears the version number RWDA.230114.008.R1. The Verizon post doesn’t give us too many details on what the update brings. However, we know that it brings the usual slew of bug fixes and vulnerability patches.

However, we’ve been following talk about certain new features coming to the Pixel Watch. Firstly, we’ve been waiting for Google to bring fall detection to the Pixel Watch. If you fall while wearing your watch, it will detect it. The watch will then ask you if you’re okay. If you select that you’re not, or if you don’t respond at all, then emergency services will be dispatched to your location.

You’ll need to make sure that your watch is either connected to the LTE signal or that your paired phone is nearby.

The next addition is a set of additional visual and audio controls. As for audio, you’ll be able to set your watch to use mono audio. Also, there are several tools to adjust the visuals to suit a wider range of preferences.
