Xiaomi announced its new flagship smartphone series on February 26, globally. The company announced the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Back then, we were not sure if the ‘Ultra’ model will be launched at all. Well, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra does seem to be on the way, and it will launch next month.
A seemingly-official poster surfaced about a week ago, showing us the launch date for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. That poster mentioned April 17 as the launch date for the device. Since then, Xiaomi didn’t confirm anything.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will seemingly launch next month, in China
A tipster, Abhishek Yadav, did go to Twitter to confirm that the phone is coming next month. Considering that we’ve received the same info from several sources, chances are it’s true. One thing to note, though, is that the phone will launch in China next month.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s not coming to global markets, though. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, did say last year that the next ‘Ultra’ phone will launch in global markets. So, chances are that it will happen, the only question is… when?
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra was launched in China only, and following the disappointment of users outside of China, Lei Jun made the aforementioned promise. We’ll have to wait until the China launch event in order to get more info, though.
The phone’s alleged real-life image appeared a while back
It’s possible Xiaomi will mention the global launch date then, though the chances are not that high. Either way, it’s also worth saying that the alleged Xiaomi 13 Ultra surfaced in a real-life image a while back.
This phone will likely offer a periscope camera on the back, as that’s the only major improvement over the Xiaomi 13 Pro that we can think of. It will be interesting to see what is Xiaomi planning, as the Xiaomi 13 Pro is a top-of-the-line device.
