Before the weekend, one of the most prominent tipsters suggested that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is not only coming, but will be available globally. That info came from Ice Universe. Now, SnoopyTech reports that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch in May.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra may actually launch in May
Earlier reports suggested that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will arrive in April, but that may not be the case. We’ll probably have to wait until May, based on this information. The tipster did not clarify if he was talking about a global launch, or a China launch.
Xiaomi has a tendency to launch its phones in China first, so… we’ll have to wait and see. It would be nice to see both launches at the same time, though, that’s for sure.
Now, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro launched globally quite recently. The two phones launched at the end of last month, even though they arrive to China a couple of months ago.
Its main differentiating factor from the ‘Pro’ model may be a periscope camera
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is a true powerhouse of a smartphone, and some of you may wonder how Xiaomi can improve upon that. Well, one detail comes to mind, a periscope camera. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has an outstanding camera setup, but no periscope camera.
The phone has three 50-megapixel cameras on the back, led by a 1-inch main camera. It is combined with an ultrawide unit, and a telephoto camera. Well, the addition of a periscope telephoto camera on the back could happen with the ‘Ultra’.
Other than that, we really don’t know what Xiaomi is planning. The Xiaomi 13 Pro pulls all the stops, basically. It has a high-res 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a ceramic backplate, IP68 certification, and so much more.
We’ll have to wait and see what Xiaomi is planning. That being said, the alleged design of the device did surface back in February, but we cannot confirm that it’s legit.
