Google is working on making its apps better for foldables and tablets. The company is adding a side-by-side notes feature to Google Keep, according to 9To5Google.
How to access side-by-side notes on Google Keep
To access this feature, users will have to long-press on a note from the main feed. This will reveal the “Open in new window” option located in the overflow menu. The new window will open on the right, while the left window will let you open another note. Users will be able to interact with both notes simultaneously.
The benefit of having two windows side-by-side is getting deeper insights into the notes. It also offers more flexibility in how users work, display, and arrange their materials within Google Workspace.

With the advent of new and practical features for larger screens, Keep is quickly emerging as Google’s most impressive app for tablets and foldable phones.
Not just that! Google Sheets and Slides are also getting some exciting features. Both apps will now be offering full mouse compatibility. The new functionality will enable users to click, drag, and hover alongside resizing unselected rows and columns in Sheets.
A similar feature was introduced for the Google Docs app last year to align it with its web counterpart. Google Keep’s multi-instance support for notes and mouse capabilities will gradually roll out in the coming days.
Google Keep gets two new watch complications on Wear OS
Not just for tablets, Google Keep is also getting an upgrade for Wear OS. Google’s smartwatch operating system now offers two-watch face complications for the app. The app now has complications for “Add list” and “Add note.”
Utilizing the same icons as Keep Notes Tile, these complications can be accessed just by tapping the circular shortcut. It then enables users to select their preferred input method from keyboard or voice.
These new complications rolled out with version 5.23.102.03 of Google Keep for Wear OS. The launch comes on the heels of the recent addition of the Single note homescreen widget. The app witnessed several changes with an aim to improve its performance on different form factors.
Back in November, Google implemented a dual-pane redesign for Android tablets, foldables, and Chromebooks. However, a month later, the company introduced a more robust Notes feed for Wear OS. Additionally, the color of the “add” button at the top has been changed from white to blue.
