Google introduced its Play Points system back in 2018. It’s a way to incentivize people to play more games and maybe spend a little money. You can already redeem them to pay for apps and get coupons. After announcing that it was adding more ways to use Play Points, they’re now rolling out.

In case you don’t know, you gain more points as you make purchases on the Google Play Store. While you’re making the purchase, you’ll see a section that tells you how many points you’ll earn from the purchase. Also, Google gives you points each week for free.

There are more ways that you can use Play Points

Google officially announced this news today, so it should be available to most users today. You can use your Play Points in different ways on the Play Store. The platform gives you the ability to cash them out for gift cards. Every 100 points add up to $1.

However, if you want more direct points, you can now use them with some more services. Google announced that you can use your points for discounts on your DoorDash and Instacart orders. If you go to the Play Store, tap on your profile picture. Go to the Play Points section and tap on the Use tab. Then, tap on the Lifestyle chip.

There, you’ll see the list of coupons that you can apply if you have enough points. For DoorDash, there’s only one coupon. With this one, you can use 1,000 points to earn a $10 discount on orders of $25 or more.

It’ll take anyone a while to work up to that many points, and the ones for Instacart aren’t that much better. The cheapest one is $5 off of your order of $35 or more for 500 points. There’s also one that gets you $10 off of your order.

For 1,000 points, you can get two months of free deliveries, and for 1750 points, you can get $15 off your order and two months of free deliveries. Below those, you’ll see the option to buy Google merchandise. You can use your points to buy sunglasses, socks, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.

If you want to capitalize on these deals, you can cash out now.
