Following the announcement of the April 18 launch event, Xiaomi has shared the Xiaomi 13 Ultra camera samples. Before we get into it, do note that the phone will launch globally on April 18, not only in China.
The official Xiaomi 13 Ultra camera samples are in, and they look great
Having said that, you can check out these camera samples in the gallery below. Do note that these images have been compressed, however. If you’d like to check out the originals, they’re available via Xiaomi’s Weibo page.
Needless to say, these images look excellent. They look reminiscent of the ones from the Xiaomi 13 Pro, of course. This handset is expected to have a similar setup, but with some notable changes.
A periscope telephoto camera will be added, and even variable aperture is rumored for the main camera
The fourth camera will be included on the back of the phone. That will be a periscope telephoto camera. It is rumored to be a 50-megapixel unit, the same as the other three cameras back there
Even variable aperture is rumored, as Xiaomi will allegedly include it on the main camera. We’re not sure about this just yet, but it could potentially boost the Xiaomi 13 Ultra camera prowess even more.
The images Xiaomi provided do look quite contrasty, and quite moody. You can clearly see the Leica style here, which was to be expected. You’ll even see some samples from the phone’s new periscope camera here.
There will be some spec differences compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will share a lot of specs with the Xiaomi 13 Pro, but there will be some differences. The phone will have that fourth camera we mentioned, and possibly a more powerful main camera due to variable aperture. We’re still not sure about that change, however.
It will include a slightly larger battery, but also slightly slower wired charging (120W vs 90W) compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The display is expected to stay the same, as is the SoC. It will also utilize LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, just like the ‘Pro’ model. This is what the device will look like.
