Following the Galaxy Z Fold 5 design, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 also surfaced in CAD-based renders. @OnLeaks partnered up with MediaPeanut in order to bring us these images.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 design got revealed via CAD-based renders

If you check out the gallery below the article, you’ll see the images in question. Chances are these are accurately representing the phone’s design, as they are based on CAD images of the device. @OnLeaks is usually spot on when it comes to these.

The most notable change here, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, is its cover display. The cover display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is much larger. It includes a “folder” display which measures 3.4 inches. “Folder” is not its name or anything, but it has a shape of a folder, as you can see.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 included a 1.9-inch panel, so… this one is a lot larger. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also fold flat, unlike its predecessor. Unfortunately, we still don’t have its measurements when folded, but it will be thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. When unfolded, however, it will measure roughly 165 x 71.8 x 6.7mm.

There are two cameras placed side-by-side above the cover panel. The phone’s sides are flat, though they do have chamfered edges. In this regard, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be in line with the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

The main display will measure 6.7 inches, while you’ll get a 3.4-inch cover panel

The phone’s main display will measure 6.7 inches. That panel will be flat, and fold right down the middle. A display camera hole will be centered up top, as it was on the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s main panel.

We’re actually wondering how much freedom will Samsung offer its users when it comes to this cover display. The previous phone was quite limiting. It would be nice if we could access the full functionality via this display, as it’s possible on Motorola foldables, but that’s not that likely.

The phone will likely be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, unless Samsung opts for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which likely won’t happen. The phone will launch in July or August, during Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. It will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
