Google Calendar has become one of the top calendar apps on Android, especially due its versatility, user experience and integration with Workspace apps. The app’s latest integration allows users to snooze Google Chat notifications directly through Calendar.  However, despite its many updates, Google still didn’t allow event organizers to invite a large group of people through the app. But that is now changing, as Google Calendar’s latest update allows event link sharing from directly within the Android app.

The latest update in Google Calendar allows event link sharing directly from the platform.

As reported by TechRadar, Google Calendar is making event link sharing a priority by adding a share button to events. This means that event organizers will be able to invite multiple people at once from the app. The feature was first introduced back in March but, as noted by Android Police, the update wasn’t functional at that point. Now, though, Twitter user AssembleDebug gives us a good look at how the feature will work.

Once the update rolls out to everyone, the share button will be prominently placed underneath the event name and date. Tapping it will open up a standard Android share sheet — just like when you share any image or file — and you can select a communication app of your choice to send an event link with potential attendees.

Prior to this, there was no seamless way for people to invite multiple attendees at once. Users had to collect email addresses and add each one manually. This is a much-needed upgrade to the calendar app for users to manage events with potentially long lists of attendees.

It’s also the latest in a series of updates that Google Calendar has made over the years to make the event management app more functional. This includes tweaks like adding customized birthday reminders and the ability to share your working location directly through the app.

While Google didn’t announce an official release date yet for the event sharing update, it may be some time soon as the video suggests that the feature is more or less in a complete state.
