SEGA’s blue blur races onto a new collection of accessories from PowerA, including two Sonic the Hedgehog controllers, a Nintendo Switch case, and a game card holder.
The new accessories are officially launching on August 8 and will be available directly from PowerA and select retailers. Specifically the accessories are the Sonic Boost Enhanced Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch, the Sonic Peel Out Nintendo Switch case, the Sonic Kick trifold game card holder, and the Sonic Style Advantage Wired controller for Xbox Series X|S.
If you’re a Switch owner and a Sonic fan, then the case and card holder are right up your alley. The case is designed to fit the original Nintendo Switch, the Switch Lite, and the Switch OLED model. And the trifold card holder is there to store all your physical game cartridges. Making them a perfect pair for gaming on the go.
PowerA Sonic accessories will be available for pre-order August 8
The accessories will officially go on sale tomorrow, PowerA confirms. You’ll be able to pre-order them or purchase them from more than just PowerA, too. As you should be able to find them on Amazon as well. Although it’s unclear if they will go live on Amazon at the exact same time.
It’s also worth noting that there’s no listed price point for any of these yet. Although being that these are wired controllers from PowerA, we can’t imagine they’re too expensive. In fact they’re likely to cost the same as other branded versions of the same products that PowerA already sells. The Sonic controller for Switch for example should be $27.99 while the case is $19.99. And the Xbox Series X|S controller should be $37.99. The only unknown here really is the trifold game card holder. As PowerA doesn’t currently appear to sell one of those.
However, it’s probably the least expensive accessory being launched as part of this collection. Given it was only designed to carry Nintendo Switch cartridges. If you’re interested in picking any of these up, you can find them at PowerA’s website tomorrow.
