Now that the new Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are official, you’re probably wondering, how much do they cost and when can you get your hands on them? Well, we have the answers to both those questions here.

The Google Pixel 8 is going to start at $699. While the Google Pixel 8 Pro will start at $999. That is a $100 increase over last year’s pricing, but that does put them squarely in-line with the competitors, like Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series and the Apple iPhone 15 series.

Google is selling both models in three colors. The Pixel 8 will be available in Hazel, Rose and Obsidian. While the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in Bay, Porcelain and Obsidian colorways.

Pre-orders start today, ships next week

Pre-orders for the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro start today, October 4. The devices will ship on October 12 – that’s next Thursday. So a pretty quick turnaround for Google here, and that is always great to see.

There are going to be a ton of great deals available for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro from Google as well as it’s carrier partners. Over at the Google Store, you can get a free Pixel Watch 2 with your Pixel 8 Pro pre-order. If you’re digging the base-model Pixel 8, then you can pre-order that and get a free pair of Pixel Buds Pro. Both of which are really great values for your pre-order. You can also trade-in your phone and get either Pixel 8 for a bit less.

Prices went up this year, but the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are pretty impressive smartphones and offer quite a bit for their prices here. Google was already undercutting its competitors (and partners in most cases), now this price increase brings them more in-line with them. While still providing the best specs, world-class cameras and of course, Google’s excellent software.
