Nacon recently announced its new PS5 pro controller called the Revolution 5 Pro but it hadn’t yet announced a launch date or the pricing for US consumers. Today both of those things are changing. As Nacon has officially revealed when you’ll be able to get your hands on its new pro PS5 controller to make the most of your games.

The Revolution 5 Pro will be arriving in December of this year. Hopefully just in time to be placed under the Christmas tree. Unfortunately, Nacon doesn’t give a specific date, just the month. As for price, it’s pretty standard compared to most other pro controllers on the market. It’ll retail for $199 and it comes in two color variants. Black and white.

Nacon says you’ll be able to buy this from leading US retailers so that likely means places like Amazon and Best Buy. It’ll be available through GameStop for sure though.

Interestingly, GameStop appears to be the exclusive retailer for pre-orders. Which will happen in November if you want to guarantee you’ll get one prior to the official launch date. It’s not clear if there will be a challenge in getting these. But in my past experience with a number of specialized PS5 controllers, including those from SCUF and Razer, these end up being snatched fast and quickly go out of stock early on. Leading to scalpers hiking prices on third-party reselling sites.

With that said, you definitely want to consider pre-ordering if you want one of these.

Pro features to elevate your gaming

The Revolution 5 Pro is packed with all kinds of goodies that will enhance your gameplay experience. This includes one of the most notable additions – hall sensing joysticks. These will help eliminate joystick drift since the sensors are magnetic. If you’re one of the unlucky consumers who have experienced joystick drift on a controller, you know how frustrating it can be. It makes movement in games a little more challenging and in some cases, nearly impossible to perform optimally.

And this is because of the joystick modules used. With the Revolution 5 Pro you won’t have to worry about this annoying defect. Stick drift has come up on two of my PS5 DualSense controllers now, including the expensive SCUF Reflex FPS that SCUF sent out for testing. The SCUF still works of course, but the drift makes it really hard to use in games like Modern Warfare II for precise aiming. If there’s any reason at all to consider the Revolution 5 Pro over other controllers, it’s the hall sensing joysticks.

But there are more awesome features included. For example, it has a Trigger Blocker. These are little switches on the back of the controller you can engage to lock your triggers to a more mouse-click like feel. Which allows for faster trigger pulls and it’s perfect for first-person shooter games. The controller also features dual wireless connectivity, a 3.5mm headset jack, and mappable buttons for a more personalized playstyle.

On top of all that it comes with loads of extras including additional joysticks with different heights, additional d-pads, a storage box for accessories and a case for the controller, and even six different weights for adjustable controller weight. This is about as “pro” as a PS5 pro controller gets.
