Out of the four Apple iPhone 15 models, two might see a reduction in their prices. This information is coming from an Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo in his latest written report. From the report, it is clear that the new smartphone lineup from Apple is performing well in terms of sales.
Mainly, the impressive sales are seen in the Pro Max and Plus entries. As for the Pro and base models in the series, their sales are not as impressive as the other two models. From the looks of things, buyers are after the larger 6.7-inch screen models instead of the smaller 6.1-inch entries.
This isn’t how Apple planned that sales would turn out as there was more attention on the Pro Max, Pro, and the base model. As for the iPhone 15 Plus, Apple didn’t expect sales to be as impressive as they currently are. This turn of events might make Apple reconsider the pricing of the iPhone 15 Pro and base model, and even possibly make it more affordable.
Apple fans might see the reduction of two iPhone 15 models due to falling expectations
From Kuo’s analysis and forecasts, the iPhone 15 series will see massive sales in Q4 2023. From his analysis, the sale of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will clock 35 million units. So far, its impressive sales performance might mean that Kuo’s analysis is accurate.
However, the sale of the iPhone 15 Plus isn’t something that Apple saw coming. Right from its production stage, Apple didn’t make many Plus models available. This is because they felt that users might not be interested in it as they would be the Pro models and the base model.
So far, sales have shown the opposite to be the case as buyers are going for the Plus, leaving out the base model. The Pro model also seems to not be on the shopping list of most Apple fans, as they opt for the Pro Max and the Plus. This might be a result of their appealing large screen sizes, measuring 6.7 inches.
To cater to the poor sales the pro and base iPhone 15 models are facing, Apple might have to take some majors. Kuo analyses that these majors might include reducing the price of these devices or reducing their production order. A reduction in the price of these devices will see a ton of fans rushing to get one for themselves, hence boosting sales.
The decision to take any of the steps Kuo outlines is solely Apple’s to make. In the coming weeks, netizens might see the company try to boost the sales of these two iPhone 15 models that are underperforming in sales.
