When you’re on a spree watching episode after episode of Goosebumps, you’re probably bothered by having to watch an ad break for EVERY episode. Well, according to a new report, Netflix will help alleviate the ad burden.
If you watch three ad-supported videos in a row, the platform will reward you with an ad-free fourth episode. It’s a neat idea. If you’re planning on watching episodes in rapid succession, you’ll always have that fourth episode to look forward to. It seems like a plan to make the ad-supported tier less annoying, but it could possibly turn more people to the ad-free tiers.
If you’re watching several episodes with the obligatory ad breaks, watching that fourth episode could remind you how it feels to watch a full episode with no interruptions. Who knows if this could entice some people to spend the extra few dollars a month to get back to that? That’s a pretty far-reaching theory, but you never know.
As Netflix gets its next price hike ready, we’ll have to see if the company’s actions so far will justify paying more every month.
