Apple has finally acknowledged that the iPhone 15 Pro series is having overheating problems. The company issued a statement via Forbes, as to how it plans to address the problems.

Apple has finally decided to acknowledge overheating issues with the iPhone 15 Pro

Apple will release a new iOS 17 update for the devices soon. That update is set to address the bug, it seems. Apple said the following: “We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity”.

Needless to say, that’s only one situation in which it gets too hot. Apple also found a bug in iOS 17 “that is impacting some users and will be addressed in a software update”.

Another situation in which this happens has to do with third-party apps. Apple said that recent updates to some third-party apps are causing them to overload the system. The company assures users that it’s on top of it, and that it’s working with app developers to address the issue.

Let’s hope this update will fix the problem entirely

All of this does sound reassuring, so let’s hope that it will fix the problem completely. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus don’t seem to be having such issues. On the flip side, they are using a different SoC that has proven itself, and also aluminum instead of titanium for the frame build. For those of you who don’t know, aluminum is far better when it comes to heat dissipation.

Apple did not share an exact date of this update, of course. The company did say that it’s coming soon, so let’s hope that means in the coming days, not weeks. The iPhone 15 Pro series users are likely very eager to get it.

All in all, it’s nice to see Apple acknowledge this problem, finally. The company managed to get a lot of negative publicity because of it, as it did create a ton of problems for the iPhone 15 Pro series users.
