The Pixel Feature Drop for September was delayed, along with Android 14, but now it is finally here. The Pixel Feature Drop will start rolling out today to the Pixel 5a and newer.
This is honestly a bigger update than Android 14 is. Which seems to be the norm these days. In Android 14, we’re already getting some new customization options for the lock screen, as well as Health Connect, data sharing updates and so on. But in the Pixel Feature Drop, there’s quite a few more features coming.
Here’s what’s coming in the October Pixel Feature Drop
There’s a couple features coming here that were announced back at Google I/O in May. Like the Dual Screen Interpreter Mode for the Google Pixel Fold. This allows you to use the Pixel Fold’s dual displays to have a new translated conversation experience here.
The Pixel Camera is of course, getting some changes here. That includes the ability to discover Pixel camera features much easier now. With a new camera interface that makes navigating photo and video features much easier than before. You will also get new clock and wallpaper collections on Pixel. So you are able to more freely express yourself.
Over on the Pixel Tablet, Google is rolling out easier navigation for Kids Space. Google has created a new streamline navigation bar that makes it easier to switch between apps and get to the home screen. Google is also allowing you to ask the Google Assistant to play podcasts and the news when your tablet is docked in Hub Mode.
This update is rolling out today, along with Android 14, for the Pixel 5a and newer. So that includes the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. The newly announced Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will come with these updates pre-installed – or ready to be installed out of the box.
