The Lightroom app for Android 14 is now giving Pixel users HDR support for their photo editing. At the moment, support for this feature is still limited to some Pixel devices, but reports have it that support is expanding. Users of these devices will be able to achieve mind-blowing colour range in their pictures with the help of Ultra HDR format.

From the Lightroom app for Android 14, users can choose to edit their pictures in HDR Mode. By doing this, they’ll be able to add more colours and life to the images they edit using the photo editing app. This will help add some more life and professional touch to the pictures they are editing on the app.

Android 14 users can now decide whether to edit their pictures with HDR Mode or without it. The Ultra HDR feature that rolled out with Android 14 also complements this feature and helps in saving picture quality when capturing, editing, and sharing them with others. While this is an impressive feature of the Lightroom for Android 14 app, not all users will be able to use it on their devices.

The new HDR edit support on Lightroom for Android 14 is exclusive to the Pixel 7 series

With the latest version of the Lightroom app for Android, 14 devices get HDR edit support. This will help add more life to the pictures users edit, as well as save their quality and details. However, this feature is only available on the Pixel 7 series at this time.

Lightroom might plan to make HDR support available for the Pixel 8 series in the coming weeks. For now, only users of devices in the Pixel 7 series will be able to make use of this feature. They can access it for use while taking pictures on their device’s camera app or while using the Lightroom camera.

Once users take the picture with Ultra HDR, they can then head over to the Lightroom app to perform HDR edits. To use this feature on the app, they need to upload the Ultra HDR image from their device to the app. If the picture was taken using the photo editing app, then users can just access them without actually having to upload them from their device.

By tapping on the third icon on the base of the app’s interface on the Pixel 7 series, users will be able to access this feature. Tapping on this option will pull up other edit options as well. By tapping on the “Light” option, users will be able to turn on the “Edit in HDR Mode.”

From here, users will be able to edit pictures in HDR Mode and retain the quality and colours. For exporting the images, users can export photos in AVIF or JPG forms depending on their needs. If you use a Pixel 7 device and can’t access this feature on your Lightroom app, then consider updating the app via the Google Play Store.
