The camera on the Pixel phone series are renowned for their superb quality. Google has also been pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography with each successive model. For 2023, Google released the Pixel 8 series that could again raise the bar and become a solid choice for those looking for an Android camera phone with incorporated AI.
A 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom make up the triple camera configuration of the new Pixel 8 Pro. The biggest leap for the camera is the ultrawide sensor that jumped from 12MP on the Pixel 7 Pro. The 5x zoom telephoto lens on Pixel 8 Pro also lets you magnify far objects without losing the quality.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro uses a Samsung-made ISOCELL GN2 sensor that replaces the previous ISOCELL GN1 on Pixel 6 and Pixel 7. Google has added a Temperature sensor exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro, which could prevent the phone’s overheating, similar to what Apple added to the iPhone 15 Pro. Macro Focus and Audio Magic Eraser are some other notable features added to the Pixel 8 Pro.

Google claims the Pixel 8 Pro camera is the best camera it has ever put on its smartphones. He shows how the Pixel 8 Pro performs against the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro. Aboagye tests both the photo and video capabilities of the phones.
In terms of camera technology and quality, the Pixel 8 Pro is a significant upgrade over its predecessors. This is the same thing everyone expects from the Pixel series. While the Pixel 8 Pro is outstanding, the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro are still excellent choices for those looking for a high-quality camera phone.
The Pixel 8 Pro is now available at $999, which is a $100 increase from what Google initially promised. However, it’s still cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
