We reported that iOS 17.0.3 started rolling out yesterday. That update was supposed to fix the iPhone 15 Pro series issues with heat. Well, it seems like it did the trick, the iPhone 15 Pro overheating problems seem to be fixed, at least based on the latest report.

New iOS update seems to have helped, the iPhone 15 Pro series overheating seems to be fixed

Apple blamed some apps for causing overheating, along with some bugs in the OS itself. This update was supposed to fix both. Well, iPhonedo tested the update, following the release, and it seems to fix the problems.

The temperatures have reduced in the scenarios where Instagram is used, and also while charging. iPhonedo previously showed very high temperatures, and now redid those tests. In fact, all the previous tests were redone with those phones side by side, one running iOS 17.0.3, and the other iOS 17.1 beta (which arrived before iOS 17.0.3).

Best of all, it seems like Apple didn’t have to throttle its CPU or GPU to make this happen. The source ran Geekbench on both devices, and they show basically the same single-core and multi-core scores.

New Instagram app update is also here, to help out Apple

This update also took care of the apps that caused overheating. Instagram also released a new update to the app to help out Apple, as was requested to do that, based on what Apple said earlier.

You can get all the details via the video embedded below the article. We do hope that the same is the case on your units as well. In other words, we do hope that this update helped all iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users. We cannot be sure, of course, this is based on a single test.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus did not have such issues. They’re not only running the tested Apple A16 Bionic SoC, but also come with an aluminum frame which is a better choice when it comes to heat dissipation.
