If you just purchased a new iPhone from Apple or any carrier, then you’ll need to be very careful, as scammers might be aiming to get your device from you. All you need to do is to say no to these call scammers and wait until Apple announces an official recall if they’ll ever do that.

A reporter at Mashable has reported that this scam hit her after she purchased her new iPhone 15. The scam call came in before the reporter got the device for use. According to the scammer’s claims, her device would be among those that’ll overheat, just like other devices on the internet.
For the average user, this information will be rather worrying, as they won’t want to receive a faulty device. Out of fear and hope to get things fixed, these people might send their new iPhone 15 to these scammers. They might feel that this call might be authentic from Apple aiming to fix the pre-production issue on their device.
If you get such a call, please do not send your device to these scammers, as you won’t get them back. Apple has not and might not offer a recall of iPhone 15 devices in an aim to fix the overheating issue. Already, a new update to iOS has brought a fix to the overheating issue that most users faced when they purchased their iPhone 15 device.
Apple is also working to offer fixes to other issues that users noticed in the new series. These fixes might roll out via a software future update that these devices will receive. There is a high chance that the cause of the majority of these issues is a software fault that Apple can identify and fix.
However, if you still face issues such as overheating and so on even after updating your software, then you might take another step. This doesn’t involve sending your device to any scam caller, it involves taking your device to Apple for repairs. If issues on your device, then it might be a hardware fault, and you’ll need to take it to an authorized Apple Store for repairs.
