New Pixel Watch Active band has a slightly different design

After Google’s recent product launch event, experts were able to note some changes to the Pixel Watch Active band. The changes bring some design refreshes to the smartwatch’s brand to help improve user comfort. Aside from the design changes to the band, there is also another obvious change and this has to do with the addition of new colour options.

The design change to this band from its predecessor is that it’s slightly thicker and more rigid on its sides. Experts were able to note this change from their usage experience with the new smartwatch band from Google. Despite this change, the watch still retains its lightweight and overall comfortable finish that users loved with the previous generation smartwatch bands.

Another change is the way Google is not retailing these new bands in their various colour options. Now, Google is shipping the Active bands in only two size option ranges that fit either small or large wrists. The new Google Pixel Watch Active bands will not ship with the Universal size that fits everyone, regardless of your wrist size.

In terms of comfort with the new Pixel Watch Active bands, users should expect a similar feel to the old ones. The new rigid edges might also add to the overall feel of the new bands as well. But while purchasing the new bands for the Pixel Watch 2, users need to be a bit careful since they won’t retail like the old bands.

For the new bands, Google introduced the new Bay and Porcelain colour options. Last year with the old Active bands, users got Charcoal, Lemongrass, Obsidian, and Hazel colour options. Well for the new bands, all the options from last year are no longer available except for the Hazel and Obsidian options.

However, users need to be careful while purchasing any of the new options, since Google no longer offers the Universal band on them. The new colour options only come in large (165-210mm) and small (130-175mm) band sizes. Users will need to determine the actual size of their wrist before purchasing either of these band size options.

For the Hazel and Obsidian options, users can get these with the Universal band options. This band can fit all users regardless of their wrist size, either large or small. If the four available band options with this smartwatch are not okay for a user, they can purchase others.

Google also offers Active Sport, Woven, Stretch, Crafted Leather, Two-Toned Leather, Metal Mesh, Metal Slim, and Metal Link bands. Users can pick between any of these bands while purchasing the new Pixel Watch 2. All bands come in various colours, and most ship in either Large or Small band sizes.
