The OnePlus 12 is said to be more expensive than its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. There’s a good reason for that, however, based on what a tipster said. This information comes from Yogesh Brar.
The OnePlus 12 is said to be more expensive than OnePlus 11
He claims that the OnePlus 12 will use a BOE panel, the same one that was used on the OPPO Find X6 Pro. That panel proved to be excellent on OPPO’s flagship, so OnePlus went for it.
The tipster says that Tianma and Samsung panels provided OnePlus with too many issues, which is why the company decided on this move. That BOE panel doesn’t seem to be having green line issues, or anything of the sort.
On top of that, the OnePlus 12 is also said to include a bigger battery, and better cameras, which are the main reasons for a higher price. Some of the phone’s specs did leak less than a week ago, so we know what to expect.
It will have the same display as the OPPO Find X6 Pro
The OnePlus 12 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The phone is said to utilize a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display. As already said, that will be a panel from BOE, with 2,160Hz PWM dimming. It will also be immensely bright.
The phone is said to include up to 24GB of RAM in China, though the global model will likely offer up to 16GB. In regards to storage, up to 1TB is expected. The phone is coming in black, white, and green colors.
We also know what to expect in the camera department. The main camera will be a 50-megapixel unit with OIS. OnePlus is said to utilize Sony’s IMX966 sensor with a 23mm lens. That is a 1/1.4-inch sensor, with an f/1.7 aperture.
A 48-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.2 aperture, 14mm lens, 1/2-inch sensor) was also mentioned. You can also expect a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (OV64B sensor, OIS, f/2.5 aperture, 70mm lens, 1/2-inch sensor).
The phone is expected to launch in China either at the end of December or in early January. The global launch will likely have to wait a bit, but it’s expected in the first quarter of 2024.
