The Apple iPhone 16 is coming later this year, and its camera module has just surfaced. We’ve already seen mockups of what the device is expected to look like, and now we get to take a closer look at its camera module.
The iPhone 16 camera module has just appeared in a vertical form
This info comes from Majin Bu, and you can see the module below. As you can see, the two cameras will be vertically oriented this time around. Apple is switching things up compared to the last couple of generations.
Some sources hint that Spatial Video may be coming to the iPhone 16. That could actually be the main reason for this change. That goes for both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, of course.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are also expected to get the Action Button, which is already included on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The additional Capture Button that is rumored may also be included, though on the right-hand side.
Do note that the camera module may be upside down in this leak
With that in mind, do note that the camera module shown on the iPhone 16 could be upside down. That’s according to UnknownZ21, another tipster. It remains to be seen if it’s accurate.
The iPhone 16 series will launch later this year, almost certainly in September. We’re once again expecting four smartphones to arrive. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max are coming.
Apple won’t be bringing massive changes this time around, in terms of hardware, but iOS 18 may be an entirely different story. It is expected to be one of the biggest updates to date when it comes to iOS.
It is worth noting that the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to include a Tetraprism lens on the back, much like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, slightly larger displays are also expected, at least on the Pro models, though some rumors said that all four phones will get larger panels.
